Abhyanga - important info

Probably the best known and most popular form of Ayurvedic oil massage is Abhyanga. A full body massage with warm constitutional oils, which are applied to the body in specific body pours at specific marma points. The actual massage takes place in well-defined movement sequences with gentle strokes, circles and punctual pressure massages. In the process, body structures are pleasantly captured. Depending on the execution, this massage can be both energizing and calming.

According to Ayurvedic principles, Abhyanga also serves to detoxify the body. Therefore, you should rest for about 30 min afterwards and finally shower off the residual oil, as it is enriched with toxins that it has extracted from the skin.
